title: Plans and billing
description: What a plan includes, how to change one, and where to find your invoices.
---

Your plan belongs to your **workspace**. Every project, member and API key
under it is covered by the same plan.

See what you are on, and everything else available, at **Workspace → Plans**.

## What a plan sets

| | |
|---|---|
| **ZevAI actions a month** | An allowance. ZevAI stops when it runs out and resets on the first of the month. See [ZevAI](/concepts/zevai). |
| **API requests a month** | Measured and shown on your usage page. |
| **Projects, members, content types, entries** | Unlimited on every plan. |

> **INFO: Your website keeps serving**
>
> Going over your monthly API request figure does not switch anything off.
> Your published content is your website, and we are not going to take it
> down over a billing question. What protects the service is the per minute
> [rate limit](/api/rate-limits), which bounds a sudden burst without
> touching your monthly total.

## Moving to a paid plan

Choosing a plan does not change your plan. It raises an invoice.

1. Pick a plan at **Workspace → Plans**. Workspace admins only.
2. An invoice appears with a pay link, for exactly what is owed.
3. Pay it.
4. Your plan changes, and the period you paid for starts from your payment.

> **WARNING: You stay on your current plan until payment clears**
>
> Nothing is granted in advance of payment, so an unpaid invoice never
> leaves you part way between two plans.

Only one plan change can be in flight at a time. Picking a different plan
cancels the outstanding invoice and its pay link, so you are never holding
two live links.

### Changing plan part way through a period

Time you have paid for and not used is credited against the new plan, as a
line on the invoice. Upgrading on day 20 of a month you paid for does not
throw the remaining days away.

### Paying

Payment goes through ZevPay Checkout. If your workspace is billed in a
currency ZevPay does not settle, the invoice is still raised and still owed.
It carries no pay link, and is settled by transfer using the details on it.

## Moving down, and cancelling

Moving to a cheaper plan, or to the free plan, takes effect at the end of
the period you have already paid for. Nothing changes today and nothing is
refunded, because that period is yours.

You keep everything your current plan gives you until the boundary, and you
can change your mind at any point before it.

## If an invoice goes unpaid

Your renewal invoice is raised before your period ends, so there is time to
pay it. If it is still unpaid when the period runs out, a short grace window
starts. Pay inside it and nothing changes at all.

After that your workspace moves to the free plan. You keep your content,
your projects and your API keys, and your published content carries on
serving throughout. What you lose is the paid plan's allowances.

## Invoices

You get an invoice every month, including on the free plan. A free month
produces a real invoice with real lines, a number, a total of zero, and
already settled, so you always have something to file.

Find them at **Workspace → Invoices**. Filter by year or status, search by
number, and open or download any of them.

Invoices are numbered in a series belonging to your workspace, such as
`GFWJ8A-2026-0004`, starting at `0001` and running in order.

### Who the invoice is addressed to

Set this at **Workspace → Plan & billing → Billing details**: legal name,
address, company registration number, tax ID and a billing email. All of it
is optional.

Your tax ID is stored and printed separately, so you can record one with us
and keep it off a document that gets forwarded around.

> **WARNING: Invoices are fixed once issued**
>
> Changing your billing details affects invoices issued from then on. An
> invoice you have already downloaded never changes underneath you.

## Currency

Your workspace is billed in one currency, set when it is created and shown
on every invoice. You are only offered plans priced in it.

Changing it revalues everything already issued, so get in touch rather than
switching it yourself. We can move you as long as nothing has been charged.
